The 7 Bridges Archipelago canoeing maps are being updated. Our new information portal will give you tips and ideas on what you can do in our wonderful nature! Canoeing gives a fantastic opportunity to get out in nature on your and nature’s terms. In Scandinavia, we have a unique freedom, called the right of public access to the wilderness. But this right also requires respect and consideration when moving in land or on water owned by someone else. The canoeing excursions are a lovely experience. No engine, no sound – and it is you who determine the pace and degree of difficulty.
Rivers, brooks, and lakes and the islands out in the sea provide excellent starting-points for the various routes. The ample waterways in Terjärv and Nedervetil are superb as canoeing routes, and the central Lake Larsmosjön is large enough for days and nights of adventure. Many of our rivers, e.g. Esse or Kronoby rivers, are so-called high-water rivers, and the rivers are especially high in the spring and there are several rapids then for the more demanding adventure canoeist.
A tour along the Lapua/Nykarleby river in Jeppo is a scenic route to lovely nature and interesting landscape. The rivers offer numerous possibilities and combinations. Paddling your canoe deep down on the river bed takes you to a completely new and enchanting world and lets your imagination fly. The worries and hustle and bustle of everyday life disappear. You are close to the basics. If it is not windy, you can paddle down to Nykarleby in a couple of hours or slowly glide there and back between Silvast and Gröta rapids. The river forks out and if you want to paddle round Holmen, it is a stretch of about 14 km and takes about 5-8 hours.

Are you a beginner? If you are, we recommend that you let one of our adventure guides or canoeing clubs teach you the basics, in order to make your canoeing tour as pleasant and safe as possible! In addition, the guides off er many excellent extra services which will make your adventure and experience even more memorable. - Buy a safe canoeing package, inclusive of all the gear!
We have updated all the canoeing maps within the 7 Bridges Archipelago in 2011, together with local and regional canoeing societies and clubs. We offer you new suggestions for good canoeing routes with various exciting themes – more demanding out on the sea and easier, but just as interesting, routes for lakes, rivers, and brooks. We will also update the landing and break sites and general information! Welcome to the world of new adventures.
